Julie Poole is a writer based out of Austin, Texas. She graduated from Columbia University and received an MFA in poetry from the New Writers Project at the University of Texas. She was a finalist for the Keene Prize for Literature and has received scholarships and fellowship support from Hugo House, the James A. Michener Center, the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, and Yaddo. Her debut book of poetry, Bright Specimen, is forthcoming from Deep Vellum in Spring 2021. She is currently working on a memoir about the narrative-weaving powers of mental illness.
